Do you offer a Meet & Greet before booking?
Yes! First-time clients receive a free 20-minute Meet & Greet. This helps ensure we’re the right fit for you, your pet, and your home — and most importantly, that your pet feels comfortable with us before the stay.
What’s included in the daily rate?
Every stay includes round-the-clock care in your home, daily photo & video updates (plus reels for 5+ day stays), enrichment games, training reinforcement, wellness checks, walks, playtime, and light household tasks like plant watering and mail collection. Pets are never left alone for more than 3 hours.
How much do you charge?
- $135 per day for overnight care (2-night minimum
- Late checkout fees apply based on departure time (see services page)
- Holiday surcharge: +25% on the holiday date only
- Recognized holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day
- Puppy Support Package: +30% (includes house break training, basic command reinforcement, play/socialization, and progress notes)
Do you charge extra for multiple pets?
Rates include up to 2 dogs and 2 cats. Additional pets may incur a surcharge depending on their needs.
How far do you travel?
We proudly serve the DMV area. Services more than 15 miles from zip code 20017 may incur a travel surcharge, which will always be discussed in advance for full transparency.
What happens in case of emergency?
Your pet’s safety is our top priority. In the rare case of an emergency, we will seek immediate veterinary care at your designated vet or, if needed, the closest available clinic.
Are you insured?
Yes! Purely Wags is covered with professional pet sitter insurance for your peace of mind.
How do you handle access to my home?
We’ll discuss the safest and easiest method during your Meet & Greet — whether that’s a key exchange, lockbox, or door code.
How often will I hear from you while I’m away?
We provide daily photo & video updates, and for stays over 5 days, you’ll also receive a highlight reel of your pet’s best moments.
Do overnights include care during the day too?
Yes. Our overnight service includes full care throughout the day. Pets are never left alone for more than 3 hours.
Can you care for senior pets or pets with medical needs?
Yes! We are experienced in administering basic oral medications and eye drops, always using a gentle, consent-based approach to ensure your pet’s comfort. We do not administer injections or fluids.
Do you provide grooming services?
We do not offer full grooming services. However, we can provide a basic pet bath if requested. We do not trim nails or perform grooming such as haircuts.
How do payments work?
- A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking
- Holiday bookings require full non-refundable upfront payment
- Payments accepted via Venmo & Zelle
- At this time, we do not accept credit cards
What is your cancellation policy?
- More than 2 weeks before service → deposit is fully refundable
- 1–2 weeks before service → deposit is 50% refundable
- Less than 1 week before service → deposit is non-refundable
Will my home be cared for, too?
Yes! Along with pet care, we provide light household tasks: bringing in mail/packages, watering plants, taking out trash, and leaving your space tidy. Before leaving, we also provide “as if we were never here” cleaning — dishes used are washed, pet areas are tidied, and common spaces are left neat. (Note: This does not include deep cleaning, laundry, or full home cleaning services.)
Do you offer boardings at your home?
Currently, we do not offer boarding in our home. Our services are focused on overnight care in your pet’s own environment, where they feel most safe and comfortable.
How far in advance can I book?
Bookings are accepted up to 3 months in advance. This ensures fair availability for all clients while still allowing you to plan ahead.
Do you care for pets other than dogs and cats?
Currently, our services are focused on dogs and cats. If you have another type of pet, please reach out — in some cases we may be able to accommodate depending on their needs.
